Community Organizer

People Escaping Poverty Project (PEPP) has an immediate opening for the position of Community Organizer.

Job Responsibilities Include:  

Evening and weekend work and some travel expected. Duties will also include designing trainings, workshops and developing presentations to make to organizations and groups. The work will include planning, coordinating and participating in PEPP sponsored events, leadership meetings, strategy meetings, civic engagement efforts and one-on-one relationship building.

The work will result in increasing PEPP membership, developed leaders, and building a base of power in diverse communities. Ability to Fundraise, coordinate events, meetings, workshops, strategy sessions and media events is a crucial focus of this position.

Qualifications:    

Salary and Benefits:  This is a full time, permanent position (40 hours per week +).  The starting wage for this position is equivalent to $12.50 and hour with an attractive benefit package of Health Care and paid leave.  PEPP’s office is located at 116 12th St. South, Moorhead, MN.

About PEPP

PEPP is a grassroots organization located in Moorhead.  Over the past 21 years, PEPP has been working in Moorhead, MN, Fargo, ND and rural North Dakota in grassroots and community organizing efforts. PEPP began in 1986 and evolved from a small group of women seeking economic justice into a builder of organizations and defender of People Rights.  PEPP is a multi-issue organization and has focused on issue campaigns, developing leaders, training organizers and providing capacity building expertise to increase social change efforts of community based and service organizations in the FM community.
