Thank you to Dr. Philip Bauman and Dr. Andrew Chen for designing a course that combines political activism and on-line technology and communication. Pol/CSIS 290 is surely a course of innovation, strong community building, public relations and a genuine opportunity to promote Civic engagement. PEPP is fortunate to have three students designing Blogs that connect with PEPP's past, present and future. Each blog is unique, yet all have a common thread of organizing, activism and a genuine call for social justice. We hope the blogs will educate and stir the reader to reflect, respond and most important, Act! Feel free to read the blogs, comment and support this work in our community. For more information on this course and the work of the course, What's a Blog? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaBlog is the contraction universally used for weblog, a type of website where entries are made (such as in a journal or diary), displayed in a reverse chronological order. Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblog), videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media. The word blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. |
